A nonprofit platform advancing agricultural technology, climate resilience, and food security from the American Midwest to East Africa.
Valley Green Lab grew out of a Minnesota international nonprofit fellowship. Food security in arid communities was my challenge to solve. That work became this organization. Founded in Minnesota · Working Internationally · Rooted in Community
Valley Green Lab is a nonprofit focused on building and advancing practical solutions across agricultural technology, artificial intelligence, climate resilience, clean energy, and water systems. We work through hands-on fellowships, applied innovation, and field-based programs where technology is tested and proven in real conditions, not theory.
To design, test, and scale practical solutions across agricultural technology, AI, climate resilience, clean energy, and water systems while developing the next generation of leaders equipped to solve real-world environmental and resource challenges.
This work began through a Minnesota international nonprofit fellowship. Food security in arid communities was the challenge to solve. The communities we serve are not abstractions they are the reason this organization exists.
Practical programs designed to advance agricultural technology and develop the next generation of climate-smart leaders.
Hands-on fellowships preparing emerging leaders in agtech, AI, and climate resilience. Fellows work directly in field environments where technology is deployed and tested.
Developing smart farming tools for better yields. Soil and water monitoring. Hydroponic system design and deployment in arid and semi-arid regions.
AI-driven tools to optimize water and energy use, monitor crop health, and inform agricultural decisions with real-time field data.
Interactive sessions on AI, energy, water, and sustainable agriculture. Practical skills development for climate-smart innovation across communities.
Strategic alliances with universities, NGOs, and government agencies to co-design and scale solutions that deliver measurable impact on the ground.
Our flagship East Africa field project a community-owned hydroponic farm in Ainabo, Sool Region. Solar-powered, water-efficient, year-round food production owned by the Ainabo Community Cooperative.
The Ainabo Green Lab is a community-owned hydroponic farm in Ainabo District, Sool Region. Built on land provided by the City of Ainabo, it uses a solar-powered Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) hydroponic system to grow fresh vegetables year-round independent of rainfall, using 90% less water than conventional farming.
The farm is owned and governed by the Ainabo Community Cooperative, with farmers, women, youth, and displaced groups as members. It is designed to feed Ainabo, create local jobs, train farmers, and generate cooperative income that sustains itself beyond the grant period.
Partner With UsEvery solution starts on the ground. We assess real conditions soil, water, climate, community before designing anything.
We deploy working systems and measure outcomes honestly. If something doesn't work, we fix it not report around it.
Local farmers, youth, and technicians are trained to own and operate every system. Technology transfer isn't optional it's the point.
Proven models are documented and shared with government partners and communities so impact multiplies beyond each project.
